Remote Display Description

Remote Displays mimic the weight reading of a primary digital weight indicator - useful if the indicator is remotely located, inaccessible, or just too inconvenient to read. QWM supplies the complete range of Rinstrum remote displays ranging from 20mm digits up to 125mm digits. The remote displays typically accept RS-232C or current loop communication from a digital indicator.

Three display types are available (LCD, LED and Electro-Mechanical) and the complete range is trade approved as peripherals (NMI No. S1/0/A). The Rinstrum range is comprehensive and only the most common displays are shown below.

D320 Remote Display

The D320 is a compact six digit remote display making it a cost effective display solution for a variety of applications; including freight/airport scales, and mobile feedlot mixers. The flexible mounting options (panel, desk, and wall) allow for fitting into these installations and the LCD display is LED backlit catering for a range of lighting conditions.

The setup is auto-detecting to selected indicators and the unit has an RS-232 serial input. The unit's software is run from flash memory and can be upgraded in the field using the rin-link connection. The standard power input is 12-24VDC, but the D320 can be operated from optional 4 x AA batteries that can be fitted into the optional desk stand housing.

Rinstrum D320 Remote Display

D640 Remote Display

The D640 is a large ALPHA-Numeric remote display which uses 125mm electromechanical flip-flop digits for easy reading under all lighting conditions at a range of angles. It uses 7x5 electromechanical dot matrix for each digit (35 dots per digit), allowing full alpha numeric characters to be displayed for even greater clarity.

  • Available in a variety of configurations from 5 to 7 digits
  • Easy PC setup or firmware upgrades using the magnetically coupled infra-red communications on the front pane
  • DC versions make these displays suitable for installation into DC environments directly
  • The digit segments have minimal mass for fast switching speeds and high reliability.

D740 Remote Display

The D740 is a large LED remote display with 120mm high digits - it uses a double row of highly reliable super bright LED's to create a display that is visible in all lighting conditions, even in direct sunlight.

  • Available in a variety of configurations from 5 to 7 digits
  • Easy PC setup or firmware upgrades using the magnetically coupled infra-red communications on the front pane
